Data Cabling Project
A commercial builder I'd worked with previously asked me to bid on a data cabling project for Lockheed Martin—two floors of office space, approximately 350 phone and network locations. The project required meeting defense contractor specifications and coordinating with multiple trades.
I hadn't managed a commercial project at this scale, so I found a specialist experienced in large commercial networks and proposed managing the project while he handled the technical execution. We prepared the bid together and were awarded the contract.
The installation took several months, coordinating around other trades and returning after modular furniture installation to complete each cubicle. When we delivered the documentation binder with cabling plans and test results for each drop, the Lockheed representative told us it was the smoothest cabling job they'd experienced.
