While living in Chiang Mai, we made a trip up to Pai. Other than the 762 turns in the road on the way up (and back down), the trip was mostly uneventful. It was a neat town, and we were able to find some pretty unique pieces of art work, by local artists of course, at a weekend night market. It's a quirky place, and understandable why it might attract a certain kind of tourist and expat...just prepare yourself for the 762 turns, which can be challenging if one is prone to motion sickness.
