On Billionaires

Quora Question: What could multi billionaires possibly have done in their past lives to deserve so much wealth this life time?
Maybe it's the other way around. What if people are born billionaires in order to see what kind of a person they will be when they aren't subjected to the limitations most of us have?
Or, what if people who are born billionaires are in that situation because they can, based on their previous experience (some of which may not be all that virtuous), bring something into the world that only someone with their previous life experiences can pull off?
I have done work for several billionaires, plus a lot of millionaires, both self-made and inherited, and have learned a lot in the process. While the nice houses, cars and private aircraft may seem desirable looking at the surface of things from the outside, each one also comes with a lot of strings. There are upkeep and operating costs, plus people to manage things, and often not a lot of time to enjoy much of it.
Really, in a way there is much less freedom being a billionaire. Those born into that situation are often expected to uphold a family legacy, which may be at odds with who they are and what they would like to do with their life. And, it's hard to know who you can trust, personal security considerations limit where you can go, and most importantly, it doesn't necessarily make you any happier. That I know.
So, instead of considering being wealthy a blessing from being virtuous in a previous life, consider it to be an incredibly challenging responsibility, maybe even a test of one's character, and you are closer to the truth.
