In 2020, I found a custom Eagle motorcoach that had been sitting mostly unused for a decade in Apache Junction, Arizona. After negotiating the price down considerably, the rebuild process began.

The bus needed extensive work: in-frame engine overhaul, electrical system updates, new auxiliary air compressor, airbag suspension added to supplement the aging torsion bars, and general restoration of systems that hadn't been used in years. Later, a complete out-of-frame engine rebuild was required at a Detroit Diesel dealer in Montana.

I coordinated mobile mechanics, hydraulic specialists, and engine technicians, while learning from people like Dan Lenz (former Eagle Bus Company employee) who taught me how these buses were built and how to drive one. A former Bombardier employee later helped with aluminum work, rivets, and refinishing.

Bringing a one-off custom built coach back to life meant there was no single source for answers. It required a lot of research, troubleshooting systems that I had not prior experience with, and both finding and coordinating specialists from a variety of fields. It was a huge undertaking, but has been a great experience.
