Coast Interview
We have all had times in our lives where we think of the perfect thing to say, or the best way to answer a question, after that moment has past. Sometimes we have an opportunity to clarify or correct ourselves, and other times we have to just let it go. In this article, I will do both...
Attention and Intention
The Coast interview with Richard was only my second, the first interview was on his own show, Strange Planet. When the show started I only had an empty notebook, a pen, and the intention of clearly answering Richard's questions. Therefore, a few important points covered in the first interview were not mentioned in the Coast interview, and are covered below.
Christianity and Reincarnation
One listener who contacted me afterwards reminded me of the fact the Edgar Cayce was a devout Christian, while also accepting reincarnation as an important part of the soul's evolutionary journey. And, as mentioned in the interview, the recording by James Perkins from the Theosophical Society, makes a pretty compelling case that reincarnation was actually a part of the early Christian worldview...
Reincarnation for Everyone (archive.org)
In addition, one thing to keep in mind regarding Yeshua (Jesus in Hebrew) and his work, is that much of what has been said about him, was not actually said by him. It's also worth noting that many of the books which were written by people who actually knew and iteracted with him (the books of Thomas and Mary Magdalene are two examples) were not included in the Roman sanctioned version of the Bible.
Between Lifetimes
Another listener asked where we go between lives, which reminded me that I did not finish the story of Sara's childhood dream...
The longer version along with relevant context is detailed in the book, but in essence after the Pearl Concubine died she was stuck outside the walls of the Forbidden City, crying and wanting to go back in to help the Emperor. An old man in flowing white robe with long white hair and a beard appeared and calmly reassured her that if she wanted to help the Emperor, she needed to come with him. When she finally stopped crying and stood up, she went with him, and the dream ended. After that exchange she likely reviewed the life that had just ended, and then reincarnated into her next lifetime.
Buddhism also talks about what could be called automatic rebirth, where a soul starts a new lifetime immediately after the current life ends. There are examples of this phenomena in Ian Stevenson's work, where Japanese soldiers who died fighting in Myanmar (Burma) in World War Two, immediately reincarnated as Burmese sisters in the village where they died. Souls can migrate from one life to the next quickly, at least from the perspective of the soul. Sometimes we do have experiences in the spirit realms before taking on a new lifetime, but the process can vary depending on the circumstances and what is best for the soul's evolutionary journey.
Guang-who?
Guangxu was the next to the last Emperor of China, who died in 1908 at the age of 37. Both he and the circumstances of the time are complicated still somewhat misunderstood, but what he is most remembered for is his attempts to modernize the bloated and corrupt Qing Dynasty bureaucracy, thru what became known as "The Hundred Days Reform".
Those efforts resulted in a coup, and ultimately he was poisoned and died. However, it did set in motion circumstances which led to the Xinhai Revolution in 1911.
Perfectly Imperfect
When the show was over, all I could think of were the points I forgot to make, the details I did not clarify, and the fact that I didn't paint a clear picture of who Guangxu was and why anyone should care. However, it's only my second interview, and what could be a better way to practice communicating a complicated story involving a controversial subject, than with a million people listening live?
As stated in the Introduction, "The stories we tell ourselves about our lives and our world, determine our experience. We hope that by sharing our story, we will help the reader better understand both themselves, and the larger reality we are operating within." (also see Karmic Echoes)
While thankful for the opportunity to share our story on Coast, We Meet Again is only the beginning of a long term project...
