This home sits on a very large parcel of land outside of Austin, Texas. The home itself is about 24,000 sq.ft. over 3 levels, and includes a large dedicated home theater, game room and exercise room.
My involvement started when I was asked to attend a meeting with the owner, several representatives of the Architect/Builder, and the AV company who was wiring the house. At first I was asked to work with the AV company to correct all of the wiring issues, to ensure that the lighting system was wired to accomodate the owners desire for as few light switches as possible. Ultimately, I was asked to take over the project.
In the end it consisted of approximately 24 zones of distributed audio, 8 zones of distributed video, an extensive Lutron Lighting system, and an assortment of Crestron touchscreens and remote controls. I also designed and facilitated the installation of the camera system, gate entry systems, phone system, pool and spa interface to the touchscreens, and setup the computer network. It was a large home, but the systems were pretty standard.
When I ultimately left Austin, the person who introduced me to the owner, and a local AV company, took over servicing their systems.
