The Desk was made from an Ikea butcher block countertop, and the shallow wall partition was made from plywood that was cut to the contour of the wall, then trimmed and painted to match. Under the desk was modified Skandia shelving to hold books, a printer/copier/scanner, and boxes for misc items. We gained a lot of storage space by replacing the original kitchen dinette with this modified counter top.
