This is one of the homes on Lake Travis where I spent a lot of time. To get to this property, you drive past my first apartment, so I was reminded of the early days in Austin frequently.

The property stretches all the way down to the lake, where there is a 2500' sq.ft. boat dock to house all of the clients boats and other motorized water toys. I was the contract programmer for the 2 different AV companies that serviced the Crestron system. There was a Crestron music and video distribution system, a variety of handheld and touchscreen remote controls, a dedicated theater room, plus a Lutron Lighting system, phones and cameras.

There were also fiber optic cables running from the house to the boat dock, allowing music and video from the house to be played on the entertainment system at the dock, and also to allow cameras and phones to be connected between the two. The satisfaction of being able to see who was at the gate on the dock TV, talk to them over the phone system and open the gate remotely, was what made all of the time and effort worth while.
