On the way from Fairmont Hot Springs to Banff we hit this snow storm while driving thru Kootenay National Park.
After spending 5 months in the Columbia Valley, snowy winters are much less intimidating now. Then again, I grew up in an environment where fireplaces are not needed, so snow and ice rated tires and engine block heaters were all new experiences. The locals in Invermere were out ice fishing and playing hockey on the frozen over lake, like it was a spring afternoon.
