Thanks to the good people at Expat Auto on our second trip to Thailand, we bought a single owner, dealer maintained Honda CRV at a reasonable price. The Dutch man who originally owned it bought a new car, and due to his excellent care, the entire time we owned it, almost no maintenance was required beyond oil changes.

We were able to explore a lot of the backroads and small towns in Northern Thailand, and very much enjoyed the comfort and safety that driving a car allowed. It only took one motorbike accident, which thankfully only resulted in minor injuries and a short visit to a hospitial for wound care, to become hyper aware of the dangers that come along with driving in Thailand, especially for foreigners.
