What's in a name?
In 2001, after leaving the job I had worked at night and day for 5 years to begin a new business venture with a couple of partners, I ran across a Kabbalistic group in Vancouver who did birthdate and numerology based name analysis, and decided to order a name report. The report was very accurate, and went into details beyond what is typcially revealed by Meyers-Briggs style personality tests and western astrology.
After starting my own business, I ordered a business name report as well, to see what the dynamics of my chosen business name were. As it turns out the business name, when combined with my personal name, clearly illustrated a recurring theme over the next 7 years of my life.
What was that recurring theme you might be asking? Well, to put it simply, the characteristic that was common to both my personal name and my business name was giving more than is received. Now, when viewed from the perspective of a moral behavior or personality trait that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but when that is the underlying pattern (energetically, if you will) of a business and the person running that business, you can see how that might not be so desirable.
So, why am I writing about this now? Well, 9 years ago I decided that my name was given for a reason, that I needed to follow-thru with whatever my fate (or karma) had in store for me. However, last month I decided to finally take their advice, and change my name.
Most of my family knows me well enough by now that this likely isn’t much of a surprise. And, it is not unusual for people to change their name after having profound spiritual experiences, as they are no longer the same person they were before. My life has changed drastically these last few years, after learning about a number of past lifetimes, so a numerologically balanced name seems appropriate.
There is a lot of information available for those who choose to take advantage of it, but for now, it is enough to know that all things happen for a reason, and despite appearances to the contrary, it’s all good.
